Blue Dream

I fly away
towards an island
star without roots
fragile mystery

I follow
the echo of the words
the blue dream

Vague yearning
Diffuse sweetness
Will we have the time
To touch the horizon?

My heart is
Drops of silk
The echo of your flesh
Resounds in me

I graze the shadow
On the reverse of you
I´ll wait for you
At the end of me

Tell me
Where I´m from
Where to anchor my steps
Which language to love

By dancing stars
Our bodies flee
At the edge of the sky

Ghalia El Boustami

ghalia My personal migration story:
born in Morocco to a Russian mother and a Syrian-French father, I grew up in Belgium and have been living in Germany with my family since 2003.
In Belgium I studied German and English. From 1991 to 1993 I taught German and English at the Waldorf School of Rome. I first lived in Germany from 1993 to 1995. From 1997 to 2003 I stayed in the Philippines with my German husband and our two kids with a project of the German Development Service. From 2007 to 2009 I built up the Youth Migration Service of the City of Ratingen for the Diakonie (Social Service of the Protestant Church). At the end of March 2010 I established myself as a freelance instructor in education. In this position I'm able to dedicate my work to the themes that are particularly important to me. Among others I teach German as a foreign language at the adult education centre of Meerbusch. I work with several local educational institutions which address themselves to language and intercultural diversity.
Since 2006 I've been living in Neuss, where I'm trying to take root. I cannot imagine experiencing the world in only one language.

My qualifications:
Licentiate degree in Germanic Philology, University of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.
Degree in Social Education Work, UAS Aachen.
"A-World-of-Difference"© as well as "Achtung(+)Toleranz"© Trainer.
Course instructor for German as a foreign language for the Federal Office of Migration and Refugees (BAMF)
